Les trois grâces est une œuvre qui fut reprise de nombreuses fois depuis la renaissance et dont les origines remontent à la Grèce antique. Trois femmes ayant pour parents quelques déités, symbole de perfection, de beauté, d’intelligence, de pureté, la meilleure part de l’être humain. La présente mise en forme questionne ces standards de beauté classiques et les déplace en situation numérique, chairs synthétiques en 3D temps-réel, soumises aux défauts de la technologie, défiées à coup de glitch, mise à mal par la machine, dans une chorégraphie déchirée mais sournoisement gracieuse, truffée d’images provoquant notre inconscient.
Ce film fut entièrement animé et rendu en temps-réel à l’aide de contrôleurs de mixage audio et un moteur de jeu vidéo. Les glitchs liés au dispositif furent employés par pour donner au mouvement de cette danse une qualité singulière, une texture de mouvement déchiré.

Taking its origin from Greek Antiquity, Les trois grâces was the subject of many pieces since Renaissance. A symbol of perfection, beauty, intellect and purity, portrayed as the three daughters of gods and half-gods. It represents everything best in humanity. Classic piece, displaying classic beauty standards which this film challenges, transposed to a digital form through synthetic flesh and met with undermining glitches and technology flaws, as subconscious flashes of decay weave into a harsh choreography of unsettling grace. Beyond the perils of perfection on mythological backdrop stands the individual and its controlled façade, here woman, but man alike, covering hidden pain and muffling inward cries, the splintered soul held together under a perfect mask to cast an image of grace.
This short movie was animated and rendered in real-time using audio mixing controllers and a video gaming engine. Glitches caused by the device were used to give this dance and its movement a unique quality.
